The Master Navigator & The Map

The Casey Chamber of Commerce map is the ultimate tool for a successful visit. Since the town is home to 12 Guinness World Record holders and over 30 "Big Things" in total, checking them off one by one is half the fun. There’s something so satisfying about physically marking off each item. It turns a simple walk into a mission. Having Thea lead the tour using the map is a great way to explore the town’s layout, from the World's Largest Wind Chime to the towering Mailbox (where you can actually climb to the top for a bird's-eye view of downtown). World’s Largest Teeter-Totter is located right near the Wind Chime. If you visit on a Saturday, volunteers often have it unlocked so the kids can actually take a ride on it! The Big Bird Cage is a fan favorite because you can actually step inside and sit on the giant swing. It’s one of the best interactive photo ops for the kids. The Big Pac-Man Game is a newer additions to the "Big Thing" family, adding a touch of 80s nostalgia to the hunt. No trip to Casey is complete without a stop at the Candy Depot (located inside the old train depot). These shops aren't just for snacks; they also house the World's Largest Wooden Shoes. It’s pretty amazing to realize those clogs weigh about 1,500 pounds! It’s great that they have sugar-free fudge too! Many families appreciate that the shops cater to everyone, so nobody has to miss out on a treat while checking items off the list.

Why Casey Works

The beauty of Casey is that almost everything is within a walkable 3-block radius in the historic downtown. It’s a town built on a "Big Idea" by local resident Jim Bolin to revitalize the community, and seeing families like ours wandering around with maps in hand shows that his vision is definitely working!
